"Look, A Normal Family!?" by Forgotten Angel

Look over there in the corner
its a normal family.
Mother and daughter,
father and son.
Another family.

Take a closer look
at the mother's eyes.
See the strain, the pain
nobody knows whats in her heart.

The father isn't well either.
Hiding his sickness
is what he does best.
Breathing is hard,
but admitting he needs help is harder.

The brother
hides his anger and pain
from the world.
Just look closely in his eyes,
you can see his soul if you try.

Now look at the sister,
youngest of the group.
Her eyes are old,
too old for her young age.
They've seen so much,
been through so much
it's a wonder she still smiles.

Look in the corner booth,
it's another laughing, smiling family.
Study them closer, and you'll see
the smiles are fake,
the laughter forced.

They're just a family
in the countless millions.
They're just trying to
find a way to survive
another day.

Makes me feel lucky...even though I'm a single mom...struggling...we blurt out our feelings and duke it out sometimes, but we puppy pile and love each other so much...I hope we still can as the kiddos and I get older.
