Spinning slow circles
in front of a mirror that
tells it like it is.
Twirling and swirling around.
The grand ball shall being
with her as belle of it all,
made up to be the perfect little princess
an object of wonder.
Descending the grand stairs
she draws all eyes to her,
looking like a heaven-sent angel
to bestow beauty and grace upon all.
A man offered his arm to her
as she stepped off the carpeted stairs.
Dangerously handsome he was,
so she couldn't refuse.
They waltzed the night away
and kissed time and time again.
Surreal romance courted them
until midnight the clock sounded.
Booming noise surrounded the castle
signaling the arrival of thunder
which had home to cause chaos
and change lives forever.
A flash of lightning showed clear and close
and thunder shook the house to its core.
Clinging to her partner,
she looked up to him for help.
Reaching down, he caressed her hair
sighing regretfully as he
kissed her gently for the last time
which was unknown to her.
Pulling out a knife,
he carved out the angel's heart
while she cried out her pain and sorrow
slowly realizing her fatal mistake.
The heaven-sent angel died in his embrace,
yet nobody noticed.
