"Are you crying, Mid?" Silver gently asked. Midnight wiped away her tears quickly and looked up at her husband. "No, I was only planning, m'dear" she replied softly, her eyes clouding. Silver, noticing the change, pulled her close and cuddled her silently, letting her grieve. "Sometimes, I can still feel the pain. How it felt, how it made me feel, to see all the blood, my blood. It scares me, still" Midnight said, her grey eyes filling with tears. Silver said nothing for a while, just holding her. "Ah, Mid? I'm your husband, and I know how you feel. I love you and respect you. You're not the only one who lost the baby. Don't turn away from me. We need each other. Or at least, I need you." Silver said quietly. " I need you too. I'm sorry if i've been shutting you out. I love you, no matter what happens." Midnight replied, kissing her husband. The conversation over, the couple snuggled together and fell asleep in each others arms.
--------------------------------- --------------------------(The next morning)
Silver got up before Midnight, but did not wake her. She needs her rest, he thought. The house was unusually quiet, too quiet. Silver inched down the stairs, ready to attack. Halfway down the stairs, Silver felt a tap on his shoulder. Thinking it was Midnight, he turned to smile comfortingly. Instead, he saw an object coming towards him. As it struck, Silver's dagger fell to the floor, and he dropped, unconscious, and rolled to the bottom of the stairs.

Midnight awoke to the sound of frantic footsteps. Silver's assistant, Marlow, burst into the room. "Where's Silver? He's late for the peace meeting!" Marlow gasped, out of breath from running. "He's not here, he left early" Midnight replied. "I'm sure he's OK. Nothing could happen". She rose and went into the hallway. Suddenly, Midnight fell. She laid there a minute, then slowly got up, shaky and pale. Marlow went to help her, but she pushed him away. As soon as she was steady, Midnight raced for the stairs. And saw the blood. Frozen, Midnight could only stare at the blood, her husbands blood, she knew. WIth a heart-wrenching sob, Midnight collapsed on the stairs.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Silver awoke to pain. He reached for his dagger, but it wasn't there. A loud, high-pitched wail came from someplace. As he realized his wife's cry, it was silenced. Silver went into a panic. Did they have her too? Will they hurt her? Concentrating with all his might, Silver tried to reach Midnight. Nothing. Just like Midnight, Silver gave a sob and collapsed on the cold, hard floor of the "house".

Quatro strolled around the palace with a smile on his face. Chuckling, he headed towards the main staircase. And screamed in anguish. Midnight was playing in a puddle of blood. Her blood, or someone elses he wondered as he raced up the stairs. She was still breathing. Good. Her getting harmed wasn't part of the plan. He didn't want to hurt his baby sister. Well, any more than necessary Quatro thought as he swept Midnight up and carried her to her room. He called Argran and set up a meeting, for himself and "the enemy". There was business to be discussed. At the unspoken word "business", Quatro's eyes lit up with dangerous delight and he smiled a cold, satisfied smile.
