Roses turn black, for time knows no mercy,
were i to sing my song will you hum to a melody you've sung within your dreams
My Stories have no end, but with you, there may be a beginning
My lines are red, they've strewn and cracked, would they connect to your black

The games we play, even you, are a display of all that which strays
Our passions and our faith, left laid to waste, in the disgrace
of each passing day
I don't want forgiveness, for i can't remember to repent
all that is pent deep within that which knows no mercy

I always knew, you're irrevocably instilled with surprises, like a birthday present
i've forgotten to open, mesmerized by your wrapping, i dare never rip
merely gaze, and wait, till i am too old, too jaded, to ponder, or even wonder what's inside
something i wished to have known to ask, what i desperately needed, now too late, withered and died

But if my eyes could be read by you, and they were birthday candles
would you blow and make a wish, close your eyes, no longer hearing silent cries
Only the music which i would sing for you, for you to hear all you wish to be true

No i have never destroyed someone, only i, which am noone,
remnants of what may have striven to be someone, but came undone
the only knife i've driven through a spine was mine
when i laid with the enemy, lust and love entwined

The only questions, queries that leave me paralyzed
is when i'm frozen by the headlights of you, then realize
that these figments, unrecognizable pigments,
combined to create you, is just a farce i've left to pretend
to pay rent in the sanity that is bereft of room

As you plummet through holes, i watch as i lay mangled
tangled in the fall i took before you
left to watch and to stare, to see if you'll fall as i fell
company to me so that you may ask me your questions,
with my chance to offer an answer you may never have wanted answered.

to then have your blame, consume like a flame,
have me torched and enflamed with the need
to feed you with the power, to water me down.
For i rather drown, with your frown, then watch those brows gather indifference
and turn around with only your back as a referance of what may have been

How can you ask for reason, when i'm deprived of reason,
but of course, you ask for the one thing i can't offer
if all you can give, is to not give, then remain unwilling
to dispose the defamatory nature that lies within you
then it is better that we negate our needs, if we contradict what be

I always crave your response, and yes, may be correctly stigmatized
to be confoundedly confused, but salient, hardly ever,
for i am well aware to bare those consequences underneath
So you must hardly be enamored by me
course not, i should rest at ease, for you hardly pay attention to me

You place me aside, as you lick your wounds,
while i sit silently pouring salt on mine.
Hearing you moan names, everyone, except mine
which i never expected to hear, so i'm fine

i no longer have a glass, but what remains broken
are the empty shards that entail what is left of what i was
the only memories harbored are those with the attempt
to be forgotten with a newfound bottle with the recipe to forget
to beget what is now, and the difference of what remains
when i wake, from the intoxications that were promised when i drank.

If opening your eyes, doesn't satisfy, then keep them close
In the darkness you won't drown, you may find what was lost, but needed to be found
Opening your eyes will only leave you drowning in incoherence
with the liability of having others drown in the oceans of your orbs in reverence

I am the grenade you hold, you the pin you chose to pull
these simple little sins derive from the implosions that exist within
tired of imploding waiting to explode
what am i waiting for, is the question you give,
the answer you seek, written in plain sight to recieve
the question that needs asking, is what you seem to be lacking
so i'll take it from here, and see if you can adhere
what are YOU waiting for
