I'll bless his little heart tonight
As I fight back the tears shaking my soul
Inside my embrace, his soul took flight
And I'm left devastated and cold

My mind resonates the screams in his cry
It's left me paralyzed in agony
All I could do was hold him til he died
As I prayed for some god to settle with me

I live knowing how he suffered
In life and in death
I blame myself for his sicknes
I'm responsible for his last breath

I fell down beside his soul
As I hopelessy called out his name
I kissed his cheek that stung so cold
And promised he was free from all pain

Death is the reason for my solitude
Though I can no longer run from need
Like a savage, it destroyed a life I held onto
It's stabbed me to the point I can no longer breathe
