Days draw closely
away with the passage
of words -- verbage,
incantations for sleight.

The warned-of dignities
of a slender finger
pressed against your face.

I had wondered where
I might find
others who engender me
with spoiler nights
as you do,
in the felled wane

of a tender graze.
