Days draw closely
away with the passage
of words -- verbage,
incantations for sleight.
The warned-of dignities
of a slender finger
pressed against your face.
I had wondered where
I might find
others who engender me
with spoiler nights
as you do,
in the felled wane
of a tender graze.
