Where to begin?
Why not the beginning?
That seems appropriate enough.
You are conceived.
All alone.
But there's nothing wrong with that,
because you know of nothing better.
Life just "is".
Then you are born.
Ripped from the peaceful and warm tranquility of the womb
into the unforgiving world of man.
You have your family to nurture and support you.
And now you owe them something.
You become a child.
Now it's your duty to be one of them,
and help towards "the common good"
(whatever the hell that is)
you are reared and trained in the art of conformity,
so that you can be "better" than your parents.
You strive to be the best,
for when you fail you are punished and shunned.
Striving for the almighty "A".
But you have your friends to nurture and support you.
You become an adult.
The almighty "A" has been replaced by the almighty dollar.
And you fight for it,
because it is the measure of your worth.
Failure means starvation.
But you have your spouse to nurture and support you.
You become old.
You have your life and memories.
You struggle for them because failure means death.
But you have your children to nurture and support you.
You die.
All alone.
Ripped from all that you've fought to create and maintain.
And there is no one there to nurture and support you.

This is truly a terrible fate.

Hmm I like your perspective on this though I think that death is an ending as well as a beginning. Well done. ~Urban Shipwreck~
