i'm so tired of waiting
i can hear the gods debating
but the odds are clearly stating
that it's in the way i'm wired
i'm not saying i'm complaining
'bout the moon's waxing and waning
but i'm having trouble naming
all the things i once desired

so if you're feeling slightly boring
then you'd better start imploring
as those ignorance-adoring
how they turn it into bliss
but don't expect a warning
from an alarm that has been forming
when you wake up in the morning
you'll still be oblivious

there's a final light that's blinking
if you'd only start thinking
you would see this ship is sinking
and no one's getting off
it may have started as a big bang
but it won't end with the same thing
don't bother reaching for a life ring
just keep your fingers crossed

you know, they call it god's unveiling
after so long blindly flailing
if you just step over that railing
you can open up your eyes
the apocalypse is just instruction
not an ultimate destruction
it's the concluding introduction
to the fire that never dies...

I can't help by hear Poe's use of rhyme when I read this. I really enjoyed this. Fav'd.
