i feel heavy
like a hammer falling
i'm unsteady
think i hear you calling
-so i swing-
and i lean...
and wonder if you're listening
i'm reminded of you sometimes
of how you always seem to get me
(entangled in your well-worded rhymes)
captivated by electric lines of poetry
-so i spark and i shine-
accept and decline...
and wonder if i'm yours or mine
i feel deadly
a lover on a waiting list
i'm a medley
of the lyrics between the wrist
and the resist
and when it seemed all others missed
my brain and your bullets kissed...
i wonder if you're reading this
of all committed love crimes
perhaps it is the greater sin
to see within these rhymes
are all that we have ever been
to say there is still time
yet never knowing when...
and i wonder if the ink stirs under your skin
each time you reach for a pen...
i feel ready
like the hammer that i am
waiting...steady
pivoting on a pin
baiting...ready
for that slow cylinder to spin
is your trigger finger heavy?
because every time you let it fall
you blow me away
again and again and again
