My body is a temple and
you tend to desecrate me
My dreams are a religion
I follow them in faith
My eyes are of the goddess
bright and infiltrating
My sight within this darkness
along the way has kept me safe
You created a delusion
to play inside my mind
I saw you in a vision
among ruby/garnet leaves
If I were to look close enough
perhaps I would find
That when you appeared most blameless
was when I was least deceived
My wings have grown to carry me
though made of flesh and bone
Every day I've become stronger and
developed the heart you lack
In my fall you made a winter
and turned the sky to stone
You thought that it would kill me
to see things go bad like that
Beautiful, but violent you
thought that you could own me
Grounded and destructive you
tried to dim my light
But I will not give up this time
I won't let you control me
My wings have grown to bear my weight
and now I'm taking flight...
