Belladonna drugged,

i saw Atlas and he shrugged

we wallow in the mire

to find a warmth that's worth the fire

so leave no unturned stone,

cause if i find heaven

then i don't die alone...

i saw a girl today,

she said that i should go away.

but she just looked afraid

it broke my heart,

the face she made

so give thanks for this daily bread

and shoot the sinners full of lead!

i know they know not what they do

i pray for them, and so should you

they'll swim in the lake of fire,

sing hosanna! push me higher!

when the four horsemen come,

i'll lock the door and grab my gun

and i'll pray to the son,

that you'll still love me

when it's done

we can walk the line

shoot the shit and bite the lime

it's well worth my time,

to make sure you are doing fine

we can go on, having faith

that we'll fall asleep somewhere safe

i know i'm in too deep,

when i start to dream like i never fell asleep

i smile when i wake,

i just can't wait for each new day

and i sleep hard

but first i pray

home is where the hearth is,

i warm myself by the fire

i can't shut my eyelids,

and so we wallow in the mire

all my life repeating

as though i dreamed it once while sleeping

i found i wrote the ending first

i drank before i found my thirst

you eat the bread, you drink the wine,

but do you believe in the divine?

when i look up and see the sky

i read the future in the stars

Jupiter, Mercury and Mars

the lord will carry me home

i'll hang my hat and rest my bones

he'll heal my heart and mend my scars...

nothing's meaningless,

or so i think. but i digress

somehow i recognised

the false memory that predicts my demise

well if you're drawing flies

then save your soul and tell no lies

the rabbit in the hole,

can't get the giant out of his eyes

i'll always be content,

just to be alive and pay the rent

i should relax,

i'm far too tense

i close my eyes

the world repents

i love my life

i see the truth

i've been reborn

i have the proof

you're the reason hearts can dream

you made me understand everything

let's go outside

let's break the bread.

i'll smoke

and i'll sleep when i'm dead.

"and I'll sleep when I'm dead." Awesome ending. Connected with it greatly. And the whole piece just kept me engaged. Great work here.
