And the guilt eats away at me, but
I keep pushing it back because I
Could never give him up willingly
      (But I have!!)
But what I wouldn't let myself think of
Seemed to be all he couldn't ignore.
      
So he ended it that May.
Ended it with my words in his hands
And tears streaming down my face. And
Even then, in that desperate bittersweet
Of our demise, I admired him and the eloquent
Honesty he possessed.
