Words said behind the back
Echoes in the ears of many
No matter what these words may be
Sooner or later
Come echoing back
Floating from ear to ear
Truth finally speaking itself
Coming from one who shouldn’t hear
Words meant to be unspoken
Coming flowing out like a waterfall
One of lies and deceit
Splashing everyone in its path
Once the water has settled
Suspicion sinks in
Like holding one’s breath underwater
Pressure of the guilt builds
Fearful of history repeating itself
Suspecting the worse
Loses more and more air
Slowly suffocating
Until finally not being able to breath
Thinking all is at an end
A hand is reached out
The same cursed hand who was betrayed
Who never knowing the truth from the source
Saving
Holding on
In hopes of the trust and faith would be restored
Realizing this could never be so
Loosens the grip
Slowly letting go
And saying goodbye
To something that could be done without
Something that will never be worried about again
To put to an end
What will never be forgotten
Then finally be able
To live again
