It’s amazing how quickly feelings can change
Or how easily promises can be broken
It’s also sad when it’s hard to tell a truth from a lie
Living in a world full of greed and betrayal
It’s hard to see any good in it
It’s horrible to know that the most well known people in this country are politicians and porn stars
When it should be teachers and doctors
It really is amazing what people will do just to make a quick buck
People should be helping others instead of putting them down
We should make the world better instead of worse
We should do many things
But does it happen
Of course not
That would be too easy
It’s sad that the people who make millions of dollars can’t put the money where it should be
Not in their pocket
Or in some bank
It should go where money is needed
Schools
Poor neighborhoods
Homeless people
But once again greed makes the world go round
It’s sad what a world we live in
People who are the most successful are those who lie, cheat, and betray
People who are so selfish that they don’t care who they hurt to get to where they are
People who only care about their happiness and no one else’s
People who will do whatever it takes to make them happy
Even say something that more than often isn’t even true
It’s pretty horrible for people like me
Our chances of being successful are much greater
People like me don’t lie
Don’t cheat
Don’t betray
People like me care for others
But we are always the victims of those more successful
Of those who are happy
Our compassion and the things we do for others
Go completely unnoticed
Good guys like me don’t make it far in this world
They are all pushed to the ground and never thought of again
Damn
What a world we live in

i say keep it up; honesty is what we need these days... it counter-balances all the lies we're subjected to in our day-to-day lives. what a world, indeed.

i say to this, however, let's do something about it. fuck it man, what have we got to lose? my life holds no comfort, only lies and empty promises of a tomorrow that will never come. POWER, my friend; who holds it? and who gives it?

This is a good and honest piece as stated below. I speaks from the voice of the victim. Personally, I give very little weight to lensing people, actions, or situations through the good vs bad filter

I think it should stand as a good write.

I have, from time to time, felt this exact feeling. I think many will relate.. and then continue to do the same as before. 'Human' is what I call it -Michael
