Standing in a street.
The sky cast black.
A thick bank of clouds rolls over head.
A crack of thunder pierces the near quiet night,
as a quick flash of lightning lit up the clouds like day.
Drip, drip, drip
the rain begins to fall.
I turn to an alley,
It leads me behind the buildings like a maze.
A rose in my hand brought up to my face,
its sweet sent fills me with a deep pain.
Splash, splash, splash
the sound echos as my feet hit the puddles below,
nearly covered by smoke form the sewers vents.
As i walk around this maze,
my heart fills with a deeper sorrow of my lost love,
that I had lost yet not long ago.
Rain drips off my hat,
Hiding the tears that fall from my face.
Walking up to an old church... I enter taking off my hat.
Dong, dong, dong
the bells strike 11 o'clock.
The pain swells inside of me as i continue to cry,
causing me to colapse to my knees in frount of the alter.
My tears can no longer be supressed,
the rose wet and delicate,
shatters as it hits the cold hard cement floor next to me.
My hands cover my face,
trying to hold back the flood of emotions.
Under my breath I scream aloud...
WHY DID THIS HAVE TO HAPPEN TO ME!?!?
Some pigeons scatter from up high,
one gives me an odd little look as it picks up the stem.
I try to stop it, but it was to late,
to the top of the church it flew...
Here I have come, and here i will stay.
My heart now and forever,
is filled with a deeper sorrow for that i have loved.

...damn...this work...and so many of your other pieces that I have only just begun reading this morning...remind me of a guy I know, a guy I used to date...this piece is, by far, my favorite of those I've read this morning. *Evangel*

Your words carry me through scenes of gray and black, save for a rose of tear-kissed red ... beautiful capture of the moment. ~L (Syn.Drknss.)
