i walk down this hallway
silently still admiring your every movement
even as you turn your back to me.
how sad that this is what we have been redused to--
that two people who could have stopped the world
with their love
have now become empty shells of what they were.
the blinds are now tightly pulledand the lights
strategically turned off.
heaven forbid you have to look
at the pictures you couldn't bear to take down.
so we walk this hollow hallway
cliche:
we're so close
but so very far away.
