Beneath the sawing voices of bullfrogs,
deeper still than parking lot glass:
I dig for an eighth note of laughter,
a loose of the shoulder.

At this time the dragonflies copulate
I need a companion
(or I need a gun)

The balloons in the trees
surrender their strings and
gather as apples at my feet.

This is sad. I love the last stanza, really well written. And I would have been lost without the title, so it almost made it for me.
