Why do I paint?
Why do I blend colours?
Why do I bring life
To inanimate objects?

For peace, and relaxation;
To come up with something new;
To bring joy to those
Who gaze upon my works of art.

With every brush stroke
I add colour to something
That was once white,
I create something new.

With every added colour
I bring my work to life,
And promote feelings
In the people who see it.

A dragon will become fierce,
Instead of boring,
By the time I am finished
Adding all the colours.

It takes time and patience
To make something so beautiful
From a plain white sculpture
Made of bisque.

A unicorn will seem magical
With all the glitter
And all the pearlescent colours
Used to make it "alive".

A fairy will seem enchanting,
With its bright eyes
And seemingly see-through wings
And somewhat skimpy clothing.

The colours are combined
In odd ways that look real,
In ways that bring out details
Not noticed before.

I paint because I want to,
I paint because it is calming,
And to see the pleasure
In the eyes of the beholder.
