Persevere through life as if made from stone.
Pave your way, stay cold to the bone.
Leave yourself in darkness.
For there you shall find your home.

Shun away from those who love.
They intend only to bring you pain.
They manipulate the mind and soul.
Into your heart they pour acid rain.

Shout your name for everyone to know.
Carve it into a permanent stone.
Leave your legacy strong my son.
Make your way through this life alone.

You asked me once for my advice.
So here and now I give it.
Take wise to my words about life my son,
for I have lived it.

These things make me wonder how I would be different if I had a father that said these things to me...agreed with Tiger though, it's a sad sort of good advice...The good mixed with the bad...overall, I loved it.

but at the same time he is portraying his own defeat and utter removal in doing it. As an old soft heart that believe in the good in man, I would want that there was something to be found in such men. But there are not, and often there never will be.

The son here can only end his father, or hate him. Or doing both and the same. It is a masterfull work no matter the intention. -Tiger-
