Broken words seem to fill in places
like the unexpressed meanings,
on the tip of my sinful tongue.
lipstick smears on the mirror
like the torn rose petals on the ground,
tells the tale I could not.
Yet I love you still
even when you cannot say the same,
just like you to turn away.
My valentine when the day hurts
like the empty kisses on your mouth,
they say nothing of what they should.
In the sunshine there seems an empty feeling
unlike the stormy gray,
when against it all you are there again.
A twist in this, a love awry,
simply the way life likes to play,
when pride has too big a place.
