"hey can I come with you?"
Just see the scene behind me,
a chaos of lust in the music.
A life played out in the dance hall.

Ner'do well, they had called me.
A pretty little thing,
dressed up all trashy.
You look so pretty in your innocence.

"Can I go follow you?"
Eager for the taste of a life unknown,
I would follow anyway.
my mascara is smearing,it mingles with nervous sweat.

The looks as I walk out make me shiver,
half in anticipation, half in disgust.
I could turn back now and live this way.
Always breaking my own heart.

"Please, I can change, just give me your hand."
I need someone to reach out and catch me,
A falling jezebel.
To change would be overwhelming.

The street is filthy,
and my shoes make my feet hurt.
how did I come across you?
You beautiful stranger.

"please...save me.save me from myself.."
How did I come to this?
no cover from the thoughts of old men.
privacy a priviledge I gave up.

"thank you. your hand is warm in mine."
tears make my make-up smear all the more.
I half expected you to leave me.
Did you see it in my eyes?

I could change, change into something better.
even if it happens a long time from now,
I already know, you saved me.
Saved me from myself.

God this was so heartbreaking. And the line- "You look so pretty in your innocence." That just hit me where it hurts the most. Well done.
