Shhhh...bask in this silence.
I am alone, and you are far away.
Over the telephone you said, "I love you..."
and i heard the laughter in your voice.

The air in this room crowds me, tells me,
Breath, breath, and live out this day.
I will, I will, I tell you now that I will.
You will laugh at my heart ache, but for your joy,
I say thats okay.

Shhh...not a single sound.
The dark comes in through the windows.
Crowded against the wall, I can feel sleep,
like a heavy blanket, close in and cover me up.

The ceiling and walls close on in.
I am alone, and you are so very far away...
Over the telephone I said, "lier, just go away..."
And I heard you say, please don't leave me this way.

The insides of my insides have all faded away.
Breath, just breath, and perhaps all will change.
I can watch, just watch you smile in my dreams.
You will laugh and when I cry you will stop,
for your joy is just to see me smile.

Shhh...the sun rises in the east.
Its time, I will wake and throw away these childish things.
Over the telephone you said nothing,
you had already thrown my love away.
