Floating in an ocean of despair
Scared of opening my eyes to the burning sun
Loosen my grip on reality
Almost a dream, on the verge of a nightmare
I hear a voice call out the time
It seems too late
As years passed like seconds and seconds took years
Contemplating on it all
Punishing my present for the mistakes of the past
Turning my back to forever

I question myself , justify my existence
What is my reason? I don’t want to fail to find it

As I listen to the voice of my conscience
A life dies for me
It is my own.

the quest for justification, a neverending quest at that... what is the outcome here? What does the conscience say.... is there reason to be found? Moving, engaging write!

This reminds me of the book "The Cay" with Timothy and the boy...nice write.
