He separated day and night,
created space and earth.
And when he saw that it was good
to man he then gave birth.
He then began to build a box
(though why was not quite clear)
with boards created out of doubt
and nails made from fear.
So now this being known as God
was filled with joy and pride,
and on completion of the box
placed everything inside.
For years the men have lived contently
trapped inside the box.
The freedom of their souls is sealed
with solid iron locks.
Their thoughts are only echoes
bouncing off the wooden walls,
while pushed and pulled by puppet strings
like little wooden dolls.
Doomed were we, eternally,
to live a lie out faithfully.
Until we see that finally
a simple man had broken free.
Seeing clear, becomes aware
and looks into his greatest fear.
Through blurry tears he sadly stares
as God almighty disappears.
He saw the sea, he saw the land,
He saw the things from which we're banned.
He then began to understand.
The box he saw was built by man.
So now he wanders day and night
outside the box consumed by fright
and those inside can't see his light.
The boxes sides are sealed tight.
They search and search inside their minds
for something that they'll never find.
The darkness where they've been confined
has only served to make them blind.
They search and search inside their souls
but find they're mostly made of holes.
The world in which they've no control
will soon begin to take it's toll.
The man he cried to those inside
until the day in which he died
but they denied the man outside
and never heard him. Never tried.
They closed their ears and closed their minds
whenever he would knock
and happily they lived
inside their little wooden box.
