A cold and shameful tear,
Falls wearily from her eyes,
She never knew it would hurt so bad,
This was a pain of great surprise,
It started with a simple kiss,
But grew to be much more,
And then before she new it,
He was walking out the door,
They shared so many memories,
She thought they'd always be,
But everything to happen,
All to come, she couldn't see,
Couldn't see the bruises,
Or all the little fights,
Couldn't even imagine,
All the crying nights,
Everyone had warned her,
What she couldn't see,
People told her not to go,
For something that shouldn't be,
But still she wouldn't turn away,
From the boy she came to love,
She dreamed he was an angel,
God's gift from up above,
But after all thats happened,
She has realized she was wrong,
And after all the warnings,
She should have seen it all along,
A cold and shamful tear,
Falls wearily from her eyes,
As slowly but surly,
She starts to realize,
The love that they once had,
Wasn't worth the pain,
The fealing of self-worthlessness,
The heartbreak and the shame...
