A soul once dead,
Now lives once more,
Striving to find,
What was lost before,
A simple ghost,
A simple mind,
A simple thought,
That was left behind,
What we seek,
Is what we were,
Looking for the past,
That was lost in a blur,
Searching for ourselves,
In a world of the disturbed,
Held back from the madness,
As our beings will be curbed,
Longing for what we lost,
Hunting through the dark,
Yearning to find the answers,
To this life of question-marks,
Trying to be yourself,
Finding who you are,
Drifting away,
Like the smoke of your cigar….

Gone, Lost, and Absent….FOREVER!

"In a world of the disturbed" is right.. there sure are a lot of us "disturbed" folk.. or maybe "disturbing" would be more accurate, and I like the bottle-ish shape the text takes, in which you've captured some essence of life. ~Dawn

Wow, I think this is one of my favorite pieces of yours. We are all striving for something in life, but we all end up lost. Amazing poem.

Aside from a couple lines, I really like where the poem is headed. This piece really exploits your ever-wondering mind and shows the depth of your thoughts. The commonality of our pieces still astound me...
