Under roof of forgotten promise,
Where hands still share fingerprints,
An old shaman whisper, ruin;
Alas the children listen, children listen,
The old bring promise, the old bring hope;

Benighted sky in the maladroit heart,
You made it so: can you undo whispering now?
Standing on your tower, billions scream your vow.

aside from liking the flow and language here; the narrator gains my attention by the notion of not being afraid to question what so many accept without even bothering to think about. perhaps only my interpretation but to me an effective write; ~pf
