A poison courses through my veins
a searing, wretched thing
this vipers prick has done me in
along with hopes and dreams

Eternal sleep, death like pose
until my heart does cease to beat
True loves kiss and fancy things
Never wounds so deep

A light goes out, conscious dims
and everything is gray
muffled words, the world has slurred
and I have just given in

A slow charade, this marching game
a pageantry of black
The hallowed ground
I've surely found no one can bring me back
