Sadness as deep as the night
From homes all over the world
Drips out of the souls of those desperate teens
Who are at crossroads

Crossroads where life must change, will change
And Tears follow, in little rivers, like tiny veins
Some teens drag there feet,
others make these discussions rash and recklessly

The sadness is heavy like a dense fog over this path
And it's is hard to breath in
Some cough, others gag

Some have blood
others have pain
Old bruises and scars are all that remain

This tragic crossroads are not bricked in gold
Happily traveled or sung from old

A depressing path
A mark of maturity
To hit the other side
And come out unscathed

but there's nothing as pure as when two fourteen year olds cry over eachother because one is moving away. it's so simple, and still so devastating to them, when they think, the world just will not continue on its own, unless they are side by side. heh

The only thing is is that it means a lot to them, it's their entire world and even though we don't see it, It matters. These are the baby steps to adult transition. And even when their woes seem small to us, it's their existence. It's everything they know at this juncture.

god. the teenage years are always so melodramatic, until you hit point, a little later and say. hey man fuck that bs. i think that's when you know that you've matured a little?

This is beautiful poem of insight.

I know there are many teens out there, that transition smoothly with only natural sadness and a bit of grief for what they are leaving...but it seems like more are characterized by your poem then not. We are doing something wrong.
