. the sun is setting .
the cold is coming in

the dew of tomorrow has begun to wet the earths lips
leaving her sleeping and awaiting the trials of a new day

a rose on a stone wilts
petals falling lusciously to the ground
turning to scattered memories of
yesterday

oceans rest and calm
tides lower and swallow their pride
birds sleep and
the stars shine

but in my arms
is a cold tomorrow

a shadow

burdening me with false promises
cold hands
and painful songs

in my arms is a wishful thought
of a hope that cannot exsist

for between you and i
there is a plethora of reason
reasons to look away

the moon is radiant
and full of life
gleaming with a greedy smile

if i look up at it
i can almsot feel your eyes staring at it too
making me feel safe
like i am not alone int his universe

but

i feel we have fallen astray
closed our eyes to the moon
no longer wishing upon the stars

the stars shine with pride
sending each wish upon a dream
making a smile on the faces
of those who pray

an ashtray for the devious

my wings have fallen apart
and they rest in your hands

i watched you place them in a box
and wrap them in a black ribbon
summoning them when you missed me
so you could fly to me on stolen wings

so beautiful

you have a way with words
a way to make me smile

but you have a way with your hands
the weight of yesterday sitting in them
the shadow of tomorrow in mine

so different
and devious

yet we have come together

i can feel your heart in mine
each breath
each mellow song and lonely harmony

i feel hollow and alone
detached with an intracate needle
but i cannot be detached

we have an ocean of blue above us
a sky of green below us
and between us is the twine

that connects your sweet heart to mine

a row os dandilions have bloomed between us
the yellow almsot like a sun
bright and full of life

a smile on a baby's face

we stare at each other
offering the other our yesterday
and our tomorrow
pains that can never be solved

sensations of the flesh

the sun is rising
the dew is melting

a rose blooms in place
of the old one
the grave is glistening in its imperfect beauty

the ocean comes to life

and when i look at you
i can see

you hold me wings in your arms
awaiting the dream that will sweep you away

fly on stolen wings
and borrow my love
it is eternal
