You lie before me,
On a plater of silver and gold,
innocence flows about you,
in times of new and old.

You shimmer gently in the mid afternoon sun,
your eyes peacefully shut,
a smile playing at your lips.

You transform inside and out,
like a caterpillar in a cocoon,
you will become a bright butterfly,
Your metamorphosis nearly complete.

Like a broken mirror,
you strobe into a thousand frames,
blinking fervently in and out of my hearts eyes,
penetrating my mind with a warm touch.

Your voice is sweet like honey,
swimming through my brain like cyanide in my veins,
never truly leaving my side.

In your eyes,
I see myself,
swimming brightly through the fields of brown and green,
safe at last.

You quiver beneath my touch,
small goose pimples rise upon your skin,
the smile slowly widens as we sit together.

Your innocence surrounds you more in sleep,
and you bend in and out of shape,
as the weight of the world is left at your door.

Your smile is like sunlight,
bursting into a thousand flames,
searing my eyes with your purity
and un-objectable dismay.

In your eyes,
I see myself,
swimming brightly through the fields of brown and green,
safe at last.

The sharp arches of your brow,
when they raise and fall
after I kiss your eyes
make me love you more.

The alcoholic smell of your cologne
after you have left a room
which still lingers in a hypnotic cloud
makes me collapse sharply in your vast arms.

The constant way you smile at me,
through the mirror as you catch me watching you
as you get ready
makes my heart leap into my throat like a small school girl.

As I lie in your arms,
I realize that there is nothing more to gain in the world,
for everything I have is in my arms as you sleep.

But when I watch you dream in perfections,
I still silently weep;
For although I have nothing more to gain,
I have everything to lose.

Tis is truly a magnificent piece of work. This everything to lose line, really puts love into perspective. And it's the only thing you can't stand losing. But it happens to some of us. Good write.
