that will never be heard...

...because a line is drawn
between a phrase
in the center of a thought
that can't quite remain in place

in one ear, through the mind, and out the other
replaced by another
that twists and contorts your face

on the edge of a cliff, with your beliefs on the line
at the height of this incline of imagination
inclined to resign yourself
to a failed and flawed design

neverminding the hindsight with
all of its clarity
while the ability to anticipate emotion
is a beautiful rarity

where sincerity is sacred
most are scared to share these thoughts
for fear they'll appear weak or vulnerable
unable to cope with not being "strong enough"

but it's all bullshit...

...break down these fucking walls
and ball your god damned eyes out
drop to your knees and release it all
let yourself fall to the ground without
a second thought as to who's around or
the sounds you'll make

speak your mind and nevermind the neverminds...

from time to time we need to remind ourselves to
just not give a fuck

we are who we are
and these thoughts are our own
to love and to own...
to hate or condone...
to be shared or alone...

so let the tears flow
and shout at the world!
admit defeat on a semi-regular basis
despite the staring faces

ignore them

create a fucking scene
make a stand and demand your right

to feel

and for the love of God,

tell her you love her

even if you think she doesn't know your name,
because after that, I guarantee you she will

so you can laugh or cry
or try to hide it inside and deny
yourself the shame of feeling shame
by placing the blame on everyone else
but it will do you no good

and the wounds will soon heal
but not until you become
unafraid to feel
