kill or be killed
with
skillfully placed
strategic disgrace
that's
kept to yourself
or displaced/dispersed
from pursed lips
disposed of like tiny
strips of paper
on which you've written
every virtue
moral
ethical
code
and simply
tossed
them
away
this
poisoned noise
annoying destroys
my self-awareness
chipping away with the
insults you say
that don't just float over my head
and away
to be heard by another
absorbed like a sponge
you lunge and thrust
your mistrust upon
the easily influenced
construed the wrong way
confused
each day I walk
with a lowered head
a downcast gaze
impossible to see
brighter days with
mirrored shades
like sharpened blades
so in my eyes your words reflect the hurt
because words are knives
and knives end lives
so kill or be killed
