When I walked up the stairs
I saw a man who wasn't there
He wasn't there again today
I wish I wish he'd go away

I see him everyday now
He tries to speak but doesn't know how
He didn't talk again today
I wish I wish I could hear what he has to say

I went to see him today
He just stared and pointed my way
He told me something new now
I wish I wish to use it but don't know how

Today he went and walked right though me
And now I know what the truth may be
He has shown me my greatest fear
That it's really me who isn't here

The first four lines of this poem where spoken at the end of the movie Identity, those are not my work, but the words stayed with me and I had no choice but to write what they said to me. If anyone knows the real ending to this( if there is one )please tell me.

I know the movie you talk about and those lines are a haunting portrayal of split personalities or your own duality, It actually intrigued me enough to look into it years ago when I watched it and there isn't an end to it......

....however, it appears to have been inspired by David Bowie lyrics of "The man who sold the world" later covered by Nirvana. Look uo the lyrics if you don't know them, your poem and it has a similiar.....

This piece reminds me of a Ray Bradbury story, "The Thing At The Top Of The Stairs." Or the intro from THE TWILIGHT ZONE television show.

I acknowlegded that someone esle wrote that, if I knew the person who wrote it I would personally name them but I don't so I said that someelse wrote not me...it's not given under false pretenses so it's ok.
