sunsparks flood in
violet leaves press the glass
of closed window panes

birds soar overhead
staining a milky white sky
with speckles of black

the trees remain still
silent through the passing storm
watching grey clouds break

a warm autumn breeze
the crickets remain silent
quietly she weeps
