she stands alone
silently breating in the stifling air..
they do not see her
as they pass by hurridly on the street..
she dreams in color
yet lives in black and white..
if her eyes were bluer, her lips red
would they notice?

(violent stares from across the room,
her cheeks flush and she drops the pen..)

I welcome you... and you write very well. You offer color, then rip it all away; you pose the questions everyone silently asks themselves...
