Winding hallways lead me in circles
I chase after your shadow
Catching a glimpse of you only as I’m about to give up hope
Constant drip of water somewhere off to the right of me
Ensconced in darkness as I pass by unseen horrors
You’re my light ahead
Drawn to you like a moth wishing to die in your fire
Every time I think I’m catching up to you
I round another corner and hear them on my trail
Running feet pounding behind me
Coming closer
Running so much faster than I can
And like my angel of light I see your shadow again
Chased by my demons
I’ve been running in these halls for as long as I can remember
Chasing your shadow
Round
And
Round
