The night is peaceful
Blanketed by darkness I am ignorant of the world
Suspending the sunrise
I reach out for denial, which never seems to succumb to me
I’m painfully exposed to my own emotions
I know that you’re states and rivers away
And the teleporter hasn’t happened yet
So I cover myself
With blankets and books and movies
And music and studies and school
And everything which will pass my time
And satisfy my restless ambitions
All in waiting for you
Years lie between us
Even if I will see you this winter
And be happy for that ephemeral week
But you will always be there
And I will be here
Until you are here
And then we will be somewhere
Ensconced in our own blanket
Our blanket in our bed
In our world
It is ours for no one to take.
