So long lingering for love
While accepting merely lust
The heart continues to cry out
For compassion
A desire overwhelming
For a gentle touch and kiss
That takes away the torment
If only temporary
Perhaps a time will come
when fate will smile downward
And lavish gifts
Of romance everlasting
Perhaps that time has come
A remedy for the pain
That has so long slowly
Slaughtered the soul
the pieces of the puzzle
In original form returning
As hope comes forth from
Years of desolation
The puzzle now complete
A delicate masterpiece
Which must be handled with
The greatest of care
For if it is once more shattered
In this form it shall remain
And the existence of the masterpiece
No more
Then hope will hide forever
A cause to love shall die
And the soul become home to bitterness
