My heart tells me to
tell you how much I love you
My mind tells me to
keep it inside

This is the place
In which I now reside
in the land where
Hearts and Minds collide

A wounded soul am I
Afraid to come out
of my safety net

Afraid that revealing
 the
truth will
lead to
rejection
and regret

So do I listen to
my head
or my heart

Shall I reveal my self
to you
Or do I
just keep it
in this glass heart
locked in an iron cage

Shall I spill my very
life's blood to thee
or shall I keep it
to myself

For All Eternity

In this wilderness
in this lonley place
this is the reality
that I now must face

In the world
where
hearts and minds collide

I know this feeling. It's so confusing and I think you've described it fairly well.
