betrayal rejection and promises broken
words we wanted to say left unspoken

because of people betraying our trust
Our faith in others has turned to dust

we shut ourselves out from the world we know
down the path of loneliness we would rather go

better to be alone and know where you stand
than to leave your heart in anothers hands
