for the glacial smile -
impaling me
on the barbed edges
of its sardonic crests...

for the arid gaze -
impetuously engraining,
seeds of desolation
in my paralytic wilderness...

for the vacuous words
rending my heart,
enshrouded in gossamer veils
of empathic pretension...
