I was thinking 'bout that time at 4AM
In the parking lot on New Year's Eve
Leaning on cars and taking rides on Dave's new motorbike
It's you, me, Dave, and someone else
And everyone's awake at home
And how quiet it is
In summertime on urban islands between banks and shopping malls
I thought I said it's New Year's Eve? It sort of is, don't bother me no more

But we don't have that anymore

And now I float around a Walgreen's parking lot at 2AM
I snuggle up with parking spots and stick close to the lines, I won't get towed again
And now I'm buying things I never had to buy before
Technology, marching on and on, forever forward
I never even wondered if the promises of scientists
Could make things worse, instead of better, I never even thought about it
But I'm not putting faith in God, of what future shan't it bring
I'm worried she will cut you out somehow
I guess you're too old for that now

You're further now

I remember Saturdays
You were drunk, I was not
And you and I and Dave and someone else were getting tired,
We weren't getting shot
And everyone who's crossed our path is due for final words
And you'll finally be fighting someone else
for what, it's worse.

You and I and someone else
All we ever do is tired
You and I and someone else

first..... and foremost..... the rhythm is perfection.... i could breathe to the beat of these words..... the way you reference to the 'you' and 'i' ....written with style.
