Cars are stopped halfway down the two block walk
Behind the 3:45 outbound Metropolitan Rail
The sky's falling so I stand behind the switchbox
That they open when the gates are closing down

When I get home I leave the pipe in the box
I take another afternoon off
I'm thinking that it's not Wednesday Morning yet
And I'm thinking there's something legally in me

Happy June
The week is over
I hope that you find your summer to be nice
Instead of not quite right
I know that there's a place where you can go
It's three blocks over
I went there for a quarter
Don't go then without a reason
When I feel alone
I get off a stop early
And stare at your house from the park
Because it's quiet now that it's dark

The bells can wake you up from anywhere

Summer night I'm a disturbance
I can see the light across the way
No one's awake
And these bugs just won't shut up

You threw some fireworks at the car that night
And the backseat sceramed stop the car
I would have happily held you down
To keep you from kicking too hard

Time marches on like a broken wrist
There's duties to duty to do
I'm looking at you.

September
The week is over
I hope that everything resolves each other
Instead of a pre-emptive flight
I know that there's a place where you can go
It's three blocks over
I went there for a quarter
Don't go then without a reason
When I feel nostalgic
I get off a few stops early
And stare at your house from the park
Because i'm angry now that it's dark

Hey Sandy, don't start a fi-i-i-ight
I'm too far close to the suburbs
And I'll rent an amp and I'll steal the stage
I'll show you what I mean

I'm hip because of where I like to sit

Happy June
The week is over
I hope that you find your summer to be nice
Instead of not quite right
I know that there's a place where you can go
It's three blocks over
I went there for a quarter
Don't go then without a reason
When I feel alone
I get off a stop early
And stare at your house from the park
Because it's quiet now that it's dark

With any luck the evening won't fall away

Happy June
Happy June
Happy June
The week is over
Happy June
Happy June
Happy June
The week is over
Happy June
It's a happy June
When you sit like that
