The Artists' Inspiration/Ramen Wake Up Call

Late night meals.
Those incredible little dishes,
those little flashes of inspiration as
the artists tears the package open.
So, much work to be done so little time.
No inspiration.
Rushing off to do more work when
so little time remains to remember those brief flashes
between those torn plastic wrappings on those Styrofoam boxes -
Or on those plastic trays.
Between the cigarette butts and
five minute cuts quick hard booze down the throat.
Those liquid dreams.
Called, spoke, whispered voices faint memories
Torn between this world and that world
The worlds of writing and inspiration
Those 1:10 am calls for food to keep that
artists belly burning alive with
Fire, heat, passion.
called, talked, now I am awake.

All those inspirations gone with one simple edit.
