On this Den
I feel not hollow-
for I've followed
The Saying that brings:
Worry, Embarrassment, fear
Joy, Happiness, Love.
It may have been the first time.
I have thought, that I've before
But I may have been wrong.
I may have wanted before.
But I have been deterred
- Or rejected
The First time I looked upon
Thy innocent face I saw something-
both new and something I like
I thought what chance may ever I hold:
With someone so beautiful and -
likely cared for by another,
What other may I've seen -
From that intelligence beauty.
But today, since those three months past,
Three times met, I do not feel so numb or hollow,
Now that I've seized the day.
Now that I've heard a 'yes' from someone who didn't make the first move.
