If I put my hand in yours,
And if I play some simple chords,
If I say the right words here,
And if I whispered them in your ear,
Would you say you liked me too?
Would you say those words were true?
If I held you close when you sigh,
And if I looked deep into your eyes,
Would you look at me and smile?
Would you feel better for a while?
If I kept you safe from rain,
If I shield you from sorrow and pain,
If I took it all for you,
Would you say you liked me too?
Would you say those words were true?
Would you hold me close to you?
...would you?
