If you were to walk on glass,
If you were to call my name,
I would come and patch your wounds,
I would reply to you;

If you were to rip out my heart,
If you were to burn it in flames,
If you were to say you were sorry,
I would forgive you;

If you were to take advantage of me,
If you were to make me look like a fool,
If you turned to me for help later on,
I would help you;

If you were to kill me,
If you were to steal every posession I ever had,
If you were to love me,
I would still love you;

If you were to lie to me,
If you were to betray me,
If you were to think I would take you back,
I would take you,

But only to let you go,
Not because you hurt me,
But because you hurt yourself,
And I won't let anyone hurt you,
Not even you.

But I would take you back later,
When you finally understand,
That you're pretty inside.
