The silence breaks as daylight comes,
The world goes dead as it's sun goes down,
The silence arrives and my peace is here,
The silence comes and noises drown.

But then I hear a sound like gentle sighs,
Soft and gentle but full of pain,
I look out my window, down into the street,
Where I see only darkness and the insane sane.

I hear this all night, and my peace is saddened,
I cry with the sound and join the madness,
I look outside to see all these faces,
Drowned in tears crying with the darkness.

Someone is out there in the alley,
At least that's what I thought but will no-longer do so,
The voice is adrift, riding the breeze,
I hear you crying, and you won't go.

Now every night, the city joins,
To cry with the voice inside the wind,
The great injustice is that the voice,
Was one of ours that we had sinned.

It was the echoing cries of a victim...
