you've already left-
me, still steady and
sobbing for your
shadow

 i want you to retreat,
back to my arms
where I'm safe and
content just to
love you

you refuse to touch
and make us real.
  instead you go, and

I don't watch your
footsteps, echoing
out of control and

out of my life-
overwhelmed by the
sudden loss of you
  as the important
  presence in my life.

My redeeming decision-
so many plans built
upon you;
  my foundation that
was never supposed to crumble

i sit amongst
the memories and
sift through what

 little you left me
to worship.

oh my dear god....how does this not have any comments...the weight of this is sitting heavy on my heart, and your wording was brilliant ~kristy
